PRIMARY FUNCTION:
To provide reproductive health care to adolescent patients seen in a walk-in clinic, ARC (Adolescent Resource Center), utilizing approved protocols and procedures as well as appropriate medical consulation.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assesses health status of adolescent patients through complete physical examination and medical history; provides basic reproductive health care to both female and male patients inclusive of contraception, pregnancy detection, detection and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases.
- Diagnoses acute and chronic illness and refer patients to their medical home or community services for non-reproductive health care and conditions outside of the scope of ARC services.
- Designs individualized management plans in collaboration with adolescent medicine physician for various pathophysiologic statuses common to the adolescent patient.
- Manages care of adolescent patients with protocols and procedures specific to ARC services and, according to the laws of the State of Delaware, prescribes medications as needed by the patients; consults with the medical director on medical cases not described in the guidelines.
- Utilizes teaching/learning principles coupled with an expert clinical knowledge base to promote and provide education to the adolescents.
- Collaborates to develop health management plan with Adolescent Medicine, Adolescent Maternity Service, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, ARC staff as well as other community agencies as necessary.
- Uses appropriate medical documentation for clinical visits, phone triage, and dispensing of medications.
- Assists in coordination of laboratory test tracking and interpretation.
- Assists in transfer of medical records for coordination of continuity care of teens.
- Provides options for counseling, support and referrals for pregnant patients.
- Assists in tracking and scheduling follow-up with patients who are delinquent for appointments.
- Assists in confirmation of managed care/Medicaid enrollment when necessary.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Medical Group of Christiana Care (MGCC) Director of Inpatient Practice Operations is primarily responsible for management oversight of workflow, performance, and operations of the MGCC managed (CCHP-Hospitalist Partners, CCNS-Neurohospitalists,
CCPA-Intensivists) inpatient practices. Additionally, the Director works closely with, advises and assists the Medical Directors and leaders in each practice as well as the senior leadership in MGCC regarding
practice operations, staffing work-flow, patient care delivery, process, clinical quality improvement, and multispecialty group development. The Director partners with all physician providers, non-physician providers,
and support staff in the inpatient practices, providing both support and management services.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages MGCC inpatient practice operations. Plans and coordinates practice operations and patient
care delivery processes within MGCC inpatient operations. Provides administrative direction and support.
- Fosters a collaborative environment of open communication, teamwork, and interdepartmental
cooperation both within MGCC and throughout the CCHS system.
- Partners to standardize inpatient operations and optimize common practice operations infrastructure (e.g. EMR implementation, provider performance evaluation, goal setting, billing, scheduling and reporting).
- Develops, and appraises the financial status, financial risk, and revenue opportunities through business plan and proforma preparation for all current and prospective MGCC inpatient practice activities.
- Fosters good working relationships and functions as a liaison with other department managers, physicians and the community. Promotes a culture that focuses first on what is best for each patient, and does so in the context of respect for each individual and high performance expectations at all levels.
- Directs inpatient initiatives and projects by coordinating interdisciplinary relationships with key areas, including CCHS PFS, IT, Finance, Human Resources, Strategic Planning, External Affairs, Contracting, Physician Relations, Credentialing, Operations Excellence and clinical department leadership to assure a
continued high level of collaboration and support with MGCC.
- Leads MGCC selection, integration and evaluation of information system and related health care technology to support inpatient care and efficient practice operations throughout MGCC.
- Leads inpatient change and transformation to achieve efficiency, unified high standards of care, and operational excellence
- Collaborates with the inpatient service line leaders in the Department of Medicine (Pain & Palliative Care), Department of Cardiovascular Health (Cardiology Consultants), Department of Pediatric (CPH Christiana
Pediatric Hospitalists, and Department of Family Medicine), (WHIP- Wilmington Hospital
Inpatient Practice) to achieve operational and clinical excellence.
- Participates with the Medical Directors in strategic decisions on growth of individual physicians,
physician practices, specialties and services, and practice locations. Develops strategies and implements interventions with the medical leadership teams, and departmental leadership to improve individual growth and practice performance
- Collaborate with appropriate Unit Nurse Managers and Medical Directors to evaluate, specify
and recommend equipment for clinical operations.
- Prepares MGCC physician employment contracts and actively participates in the physician recruitment, interview, evaluation, negotiations, onboarding, coaching, counseling and professional development.
- Coordinates, develops and implements MGCC policies, protocols, procedures and standards, together
with the Clinical Leaders in each practice, needed to achieve a standardized, high-quality, safe, and efficient patient care delivery processes throughout MGCC.
- Develops and implements a shared decision making model for supervisory, support and ancillary staff to maintain consistent and quality practice operations. Develops protocols and creates standards for inpatient practice operations. Identifies shared resources/services opportunities within the System.
- Serves as a member of the MGCC Senior Administrative team, responsible for primary care practice operations and related areas.
- Works with team with regard to dissemination of patient satisfaction data and development and implementation of improvement plans as needed.
- Manages the resolution of patient complaints, implements a patient satisfaction survey process and develops and implements improvement plans, as needed.
