The ideal candidate: The candidate is required to be board certified in general surgery. Qualifications in surgical critical care are preferred along with 2-4 years of experience. The candidate will be a faculty member for the Christiana Care’s independent surgical residency program and will participate in clinical research and resident and medical student education. Academic appointment is desired and available through Christiana Care’s affiliation with Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. In addition to providing Delaware's only Level I trauma center at the Christiana Hospital campus in Newark, DE, Christiana Care provides regional tertiary care in heart and vascular services, cancer, critical care, and women's health services. It supports 18 residencies with over 200 residents and has a state the art education building with a new simulation center.

Requirements:
