Job Description:

The Director of Clinical Human Factors is responsible for developing and implementing research in the areas of performance measurement and evaluation, team training, individual and team decision making and problem solving, patient safety and process improvement
-Provide line management of the Research Associates within the Center for Healthcare Delivery Science (HDS).
- Further the Value Institute funding by writing and submitting scientific proposals to federal agencies or industry and furthers HDS recognition in the scientific community by writing abstracts and manuscripts.
- Recruits Healthcare Delivery Science (HDS) research staff.
- Establishes work priorities among HDS projects and allocates HDS resources so that each project can be accomplished in a timely manner
- Conducts the monthly HDS Data Management and Analysis planning committee and other standing and planned HDS meetings. Establishes the agenda and assists HDS Director in leading the quarterly executive committee meeting
- Establishes HDS scope of work and works with the Administrative Director to establish the budget for each HDS projects from internal or external partners.
- Fosters collaboration with internal and external partners to work on research projects, evaluations and other related HDS projects.
- Assists CCHS Investigators in developing their own research projects from developing the research plan to organizing the data collection/management
- Assists nursing teams in conducting performance improvement projects.
- Prepares proposals and grants for the National Institute of Health, foundations (American Heart Association, American Society of Nephrology).
- Writes and submits for scientific publications, abstracts and manuscripts.
- Presents data at National and International conferences
- Works closely with the Administrative Director of the Value Institute and CCOR’s Director to establish the VI - CCOR business plan

Job Requirements
-PhD in human factors or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of Research experience in clinical settings including performance measurement and evaluation.
- Experience with providing leadership in academic publications and substantive contributions to obtaining external funding for human factors research

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
This position serves as the central point-of-contact for the Enterprise Kronos Workforce Management system (which includes Timekeeper, Attestation and Scheduling modules) to provide system administration, functional support and training. Support day to day Kronos operations activities, such as schedules, timecards, & report troubleshooting. Coordinates process improvements and system enhancements between the end users, Information Services, Payroll, Nursing Resources, Human Resources and the vendor.
- Collaborates with users to provide technical support, solicits ideas for system improvements and ensures adoption and ease of use.
- Develops and maintains detailed documentation of procedures and processes to ensure consistency across the organization.
- Tests system’s functionality during upgrades or implementation of any new modules prior to end user testing.
- Researches application questions by setting up scenarios and testing the application.
- Partners with Information Services to conduct specific performance or functional tests associated with resolving issues regarding Kronos applications.
- Creates and maintains a knowledgebase by building FAQ’s, managing continuous process improvement planning, and conducts the on-going review of milestone progress.
- Initiates the creation of step-by-step user guides; oversees the review of training materials to ensure accuracy.
- Provides training to all users including employees, managers, timekeepers and schedulers.
- Develops ad hoc queries and standard reports as needed.
- Performs other related duties as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate’s degree in Human Resources or Computer Science or related field.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2-years Kronos experience and 1 year of training experience.
- Experience working in a healthcare environment preferred.
- Experience with implementing and supporting the following Kronos modules preferred: Workforce Timekeeper, Attestation, Advanced Scheduler, Workforce Analytics and/or Absent Management.
