PRIMARY FUNCTION(S)
To conduct the interactive process for accommodations under The Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA) and provide recommendations to the Leave Administrator consistent with local, state, and federal regulations.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads the interactive process in fact finding to establishing a clear and effective "interactive process" between all relevant parties, operational leadership, employee relations, employee health etc.
- Lead communication process notifying managers when appropriate to fill positions.
- Manages the operational relationships - including provision of all relevant and requested information between third party leave administrator and organization.
- Monitors third party leave administrator for process compliance and quality customer service.
- Serves as the initial point of contact for vendor, manager, or employee escalations related to leave/absence management working toward resolving disputes in compliance with applicable regulations and organization's applicable policies and procedures.
- Coordinate fitness for duty return to work meetings with employee relations, manager, and employee health services.
- Partner with managers, compensation, and employee health services to update job specifications for essential functions and physical demands as needed.
- Prepare payroll removal summaries recommending employment action, for leave management/accommodation separations.
- Stay abreast of all applicable regulatory changes.
- Leads fact finding of third-party challenges related to FMLA, ADAA, and Pregnancy Act, and partner with employment council to respond to EEO/civil suits.
- Proactively track and report on key metrics (accommodations, FMLA utilization, etc) to identify trends & opportunities providing recommendations to leadership for improvement in productivity and workforce planning. Disseminate monthly analytics to key stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain leave management SOP's maintaining in shared knowledge base.
- Coordinate recruitment process for displaced workers requiring accommodations maintaining accurate records.
- Maintain case management files for all leaves, accommodations, placements etc in compliance with applicable regs (e.g. OFCCP, EEOC, etc).
- Manages and tracks light duty placement ensuring consistency in practices.
- Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices. Reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
- Performs other related duties as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Associates degree in Human Resources, Computer Science, Business or related field.
- 1-3 years exempt level relevant experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
