Christiana Care Health Systems is seeking qualified candidates for Patient/Physician Access Coordinator to work in our Patient Accesses Service Department which provides access and scheduling of patients. Primary contact and interactions to include: Departmental and hospital staff, physicians/office staff, patients/family, insurance companies, Patient Financial Services and Information Services. This position will be assigned to Christiana Main Admitting.
The Access Coordinator will be primarily responsible for promoting patient and physician satisfaction through proactive administrative services. Some of these services include:
Collaborating with physicians/office to ensure a seamless delivery of patient access activities.
Facilitating the authorization process to minimize direct involvement with physicians/office staff.
Provide consistent education to physicians/office staff regarding changes in third party billing, customer service, answering phones.
Associate degree in Business/Medical related field preferred.
Two years' experience in a medical, financial or marketing institution preferred.
Previous insurance or third party experience is preferred.
Ability to manage multiple software/websites simultaneously.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
Hours: This position is a part time Evening Shift position for 40 hours per pay period. Hours are 3:00 p.m. - 7 p.m. This requires every other weekend and every other holiday per year.
Other: This position requires attendance of our Global Training class that is 2-4 weeks in duration and is 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday. The training will be held at our Avenue North facility in Wilmington, Delaware.
