ChristianaCare's Helen F. Graham Cancer Center is looking to hire a Full time Access Coordinator to support the Bone Marrow Transplant practice.

The Access Coordinator will be directly responsible for the coordination of care between the practice and referring provider for patients being referred for stem cell transplants and cellular therapy evaluation.  This position is specific to the stem cell transplant and cellular therapy program. The Access Coordinator will be required to have impeccable organizational skills so that all reporting is up to date for our CIBMTR and FACT accreditation to maintain compliance. The caregiver must have skills in electronic communication as documentation occurs in various different electronic programs. Experience in hematology/oncology highly preferred.

  • Monday- Friday: 8am- 4:30pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Work effectively and efficiently with referring physician offices and hospital providers to coordinate patient care.

  • Investigate and document all information to support transplant services, including obtaining all records from referring office as well as accessing the DHIN and Powerchart for additional records.

  • Register all referred patients in the OTTR electronic database.

  • Control the workflow related to the demand for new patients by communicating with physicians and handle all urgent/emergent requests.

  • Insurance verification (level of coverage to support stem cell transplant and cellular therapy and out of pocket expenses) prior to initiation of treatment plan.

  • Maintains patient confidentiality.

  • Collect, analyze and report patient-related transplant, quality measures and outcomes data for the Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) Program and Hematology group and to the Center for International Blood and Marrow Research and the National Marrow Donor Program (CIBMTR/NMDP) National Registry

  • Manages data regarding bone marrow transplant patients' complications and overall survival both internally and externally to CIBMTR.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent

  • 2 years' experience in a medical office practice setting is required; 3 years' experience is preferred.
