Assistant Nurse Manager - (RN) - Vascular Interventional Radiology

FT Day Shift (40 hrs - Available Shifts: 7am - 330pm or 7am -530pm.  On-call required.

Christian Care is looking for an Assistant Nurse Manager for our Vascular Interventional Radiology Unit to assist the Nurse Manager in the overall administrative direction for the clinical and operational practice of nursing and delivery of patient care.

The Assistant Nurse Manager works alongside the Nurse Manager to provide oversight of key quality and safety initiatives and hold caregivers accountable to best practices and standards of care.  Provides first-line managerial oversight of services to patients undergoing procedures within HVIS Labs. This position monitors caregiver productivity related to procedural care and other administrative duties. Caregiver supervision as well as support would need to be provided by another departmental Nurse Manager.

Vascular Interventional Radiology consists of four state-of-the-art procedure rooms where image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic care is provided.  The procedures are performed by Interventional Radiologists, Vascular Surgeons, Nephrologists, and Neuro Interventional Radiologists with the assistance of Registered Nurses and Registered Radiology Technologists. The procedures are carried out by utilizing small catheters, guidewires, and catheter-based devices that are inserted via a vein, artery, or other pathways that are less invasive than larger surgical incisions.

These methods offer less risk, less pain, and necessitate a shorter recovery time. The majority of procedures only require moderate sedation that is administered by a Registered Nurse under the direction of a physician. General anesthesia is utilized for a small volume of procedures including pediatric and neuro-interventional cases.

Examples of Procedures that are performed in the Neuro and Vascular Interventional Suites include but are not limited to:

• Angiography with possible balloon angioplasty and stenting

• Neuro interventional and diagnostic angiography

• Chemoembolization

• Cholecystostomy

• Drain Insertions

• Uterine Artery Embolizations (UAE)

• Thrombolysis

• IVC filters

• Vascular access devices, including tunneled and implantable ones.

• Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunts (TIPS)

• Nephrostomy Tubes

• Percutaneous Transhepatic Cholangiogram (PTC)

• Gastrostomy/Jejunostomy feeding tubes

• Cerebral Arteriograms

• Cerebral Aneurysm coiling and embolizations

• Cerebral Stenting

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Completed Bachelor's degree in Nursing; If no BSN, Master's degree in nursing is required.
• Master's Degree in nursing, healthcare. or business management field required or currently enrolled to be obtained within 5 years of promotion.
• 5 years of appropriate clinical and leadership experience in the specialty.
