ChristianaCare, Union Hospital is looking for an experienced CT Tech to join our team to serve our patients guided by our values of Love & Excellence!
Job Summary: Radiologic Technologist specializing in CT.
Essential Job Responsibilities: - Coordinates and performs CT studies as required.
- Administers contrast material under the direction of a physician.
- Sets exposure factors according to established protocols.
- Operates equipment and adjusts as necessary.
- Greets people, answers phones and E-mail several times a day.
- Completes logs and records.
- Utilization of equipment and professional training appropriately in producing diagnostic images.
- Provides necessary technical and clerical functions to facilitate excellent patient care.
- Start IVs, administer contrast media as directed and per protocol. - Performs other duties as assigned.
- This position requires employees to demonstrate initial and annual competencies in order to remain in the position.
Education: Graduate of a higher education accredited school /college.
Licenses / Certifications: American Heart Association BLS (within 6 months hire) required
ARRT Registry required
Maryland State License required
Certification in CT preferred.
Experience: One year experience as Radiologic Technologist. CT experience preferred.
- Sitting long periods of time. Requires lifting and moving patient's files and light loads.
- Frequent use of hands (e.g. use of computer keyboard, etc.).
- Reaching stooping and bending.
- Visual acuity and manual dexterity.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds Performance Requirements:
- Ability to o Perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified times.
o Handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload.
o Work independently with minimal direct supervision.
o Set priorities and problem solving.
o Communicate effectively (verbal and written).
o Balance the needs of the patients and staff while still performing complex scans and procedures
o Provide technical oversight and assign personnel and tasks to be accomplished in a manner that assures completion of the workload utilizing the personnel to the greatest advantage thus providing the optimal level of patient care within the workday
- Discretion and confidentiality are required.
- Must demonstrate proficiency in operation of CT equipment, computer skills, communication, and interpersonal skills with all customer groups.
