The Cardiovascular Lab is currently recruiting for a Diagnostic Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist to work Day shift 4 ten hour days including one weekend day.  The successful candidate is responsible for rotating on-call schedule covering off hours and weekends; and may be eligible for a $10,000 sign on bonus.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • To perform cardiac ultrasound procedures.
  • Documents patient's clinical history and technologist impressions of the images obtained on exam request forms.
  • Assists the cardiologist with obtaining images and equipment operation during transesophageal and stress echocardiography.
  • Reviews Xcelera images with the interpreting cardiologist before final interpretations are completed.
  • Reports to the Technical Director in a timely manner any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards or safety violations that may cause injury to one-self, other employees, patients and visitors.
  • Assists in the instruction of cardiac ultrasound students and Cardiology Fellows during their practice performance at Christiana Care.


  • Associate degree from an accredited school of cardiovascular technology
  • Must be registry-eligible and sit for registry and become RDCS/RCS within the first 12 months of employment.
  • Must be either ARDMS (RVCS) or RDCS certified.
  • Certification in CPR.
  • Experience with saline and definity contrast; transesophageal echo, stress echo, dobutamine stress echo and adult echo required.
  • Willingness to be trained in IV placement and administration of contrast agent.
