We are currently seeking a Clinical Nutrition Manager to plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate all activities related to Clinical Nutrition Services.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage the Clinical Nutrition Team at Christiana and Wilmington and responsible for attainment of best practice standards, quality of services, cost containment, fiscal responsibility, and accountability.
  • Identifies and prioritizes patients requiring nutrition intervention and education based upon nutrition screening protocols.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and abilities to interpret clinical data acquired from medical records for the intensive care unit assigned.
  • Establishes and maintains all policies, standards and programs for the provision of efficient nutrition.
  • Establishes key measures to assess and evaluate quality and safety of care and services provided.
  • Identifies, develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates key performance improvement initiatives.
  • Engages in and encourages staff to participate in research activities and submission to professional publications.
  • Integrates clinical nutrition principles into food service operations with regard to menu planning, product specifications, and enteral formulary.
  • Acts as a liaison between patient services, kitchen operations.
  • Evaluates senior and clinical dietitian work performance for annual performance evaluations.
  • Develops, implements, and documents in-service education for departmental and medical staff.
  • Oversees planning and coordination of the educational requirements of dietetic interns
  • Actively represents the Department of Food and Nutrition Services and the Clinical Nutrition Section on committees.
  • Prepares reports and annual appraisals as needed for presentation to departmental, medical and administrative staff.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills including: problem solving, delegation, decision making, training and promotion of employee morale and motivation. Serves as a positive role model.
  • Reviews and recommends applicants for hire, transfer, promotion, termination and other disciplinary actions.
  • Maintains compliance with State Department of Health and JC standards.

Education and experience requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Nutrition.
  • Five years critical care experience, Four years work experience as a clinical nutrition manager in an acute care facility, preferred.
