Our amazing Dental Services team is looking for a Dental Assistant to join our Wilmington practice! The Dental Assistant will assist with selected dental and oral surgery procedures for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients under the direction and supervision of the Dental Supervisor and Dentist. And will perform a variety of clerical, laboratory and radiologic, and office duties.

How You'll Make an Impact:   

  • Assists Dentist engaged in diagnostic, preventative, general, orthodontic, endodontic, surgical, and pedodontics procedures during examination and treatment of patients.

  • Demonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to assist in the care of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

  • Performs clinical support functions in the following clinics: Dental, Routine Oral Surgery and Oral Surgery with anesthesia procedures; including disinfecting and sterilizing instruments and equipment, preparing tray set ups for procedures, recording blood pressure and pulse from dinamapp, seating and preparing patient for exam, assisting dentist, re-enforcing post procedure instructions, and maintaining universal precautions and infection control procedures.

  • Performs laboratory and radiologic support functions including preparing materials for making impressions and preparing models for dentist use; and preparing patients for and the taking of radiographic films; exposes, mounts, and processes films.

  • Performs clerical support functions which include preparing charts and billing forms; retrieving and refiling radiology films; retrieving and returning medical records to MR Department; answering phones and scheduling appointments.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Graduate of accredited Dental Assistant program required.

  • Certified Dental Radiographer or Certification to perform dental radiologic procedures required.

  • One-year previous work related experience preferred.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
