ChristianaCare is currently seeking a Director for our Infection Prevention department.  In this position, the selected candidate will direct, supervise, and coordinate the activities of the Infection Prevention department. This includes functional responsibility for the day-to-day operations of all components of the department and integration into the healthcare's network, planning, budgeting, clinical review, and committee structure. The individual will also maintain a key leadership role in planning and initiation of new programs that support infection prevention and patient safety within the department and throughout the healthcare system.

  • Direct activities within the ChristianaCare Infection Prevention department.

  • Ensure all infection prevention and control activities at ChristianaCare sites meet local, state, and national infection prevention and safety requirements.

  • Complete an annual risk assessment of the Infection Prevention surveillance program with final approval from the Infection Prevention Committee.

  • Ensures all short and long range goals and objectives for the Infection Prevention Department/program are met. 

Requirements:  BSN or BS required. Master's degree in Nursing, Epidemiology or related field preferred. Demonstrated experience in infection prevention and control. Certification in Infection Prevention required (CBIC).  Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing an Infection Prevention department.
