Christiana Care has the prestigious Magnet® designation with two acute care hospitals located in Wilmington and Newark, DE. Christiana Hospital, located in Newark, DE, is our Regional Level-1 Trauma Center with 26 operating rooms. Less than two hours from major cities such as Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C., Christiana provides exposure to a wide variety of specialty areas including trauma, neuro, general, laparoscopic, bariatric, ortho, GU/GYN, plastic surgery, ENT/Oral Surgery.

Christiana Hospital offers a dynamic, high volume, teaching and learning environment for Perioperative Nursing.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced, dynamic Director of Perioperative Clinical Operations - Christiana and Wilmington Campus to assume overall leadership, strategic planning, staffing and coordination of services.

The Position's primary function is to oversees the operations of Perioperative Services-Christiana and Wilmington Campus and assumes 24/7 responsibility for efficient, effective and safe care with a strong focus on quality, outcomes, patient and medical staff satisfaction.  These responsibilities include oversight over the Operating Room, PACU and Prep and Holding, Surgery and Procedure Unit, Surgery Center, Endoscopy, PEP and Scheduling.    

The most qualified candidate is someone who has managed in the Operating Room at a Level One Trauma Center. Candidate has managed full operations of 15-30 Operating Rooms.


  • BSN and Master's degree Or alternatively, a Bachelor's degree and Masters of Science in Nursing required.
  • Professional certification required. (Leadership, CNOR or other related to perioperative services)
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years appropriate clinical and leadership experience, including successful budgeting, recruitment/retention strategies and performance improvement for patient care initiatives.
  • Current licensure in the State of Delaware.
  • BCLS Certification
