Opportunities for employment are available in the following areas of genetic counseling:
Split position Prenatal with Adult/Neurogenetic counseling
Our genetic counselors are responsible for conducting intake screening and risk assessment, explaining the nature and scope of testing procedures, and following up with results. We also provide opportunities to teach and supervise residents, fellows, undergraduate students and graduate genetic counseling students. The genetic counselors will also provide educational lectures to professionals as well as participate in community outreach. Educational enrichment is integral to the position with participation in journal clubs, and case conferences.
Requirements: Master's degree in Human Genetics/ Genetic Counseling. ABGC or ACMG Board certification is required at hire or the individual must be ABGC board eligible and have active candidate status. In addition, the candidate must obtain a Delaware Genetic Counselor license. Board certification by the American Board of Genetic Counseling is required for continued employment as this is a necessary requirement for licensure. One year experience desired, but not required.
