ChristianaCare is currently looking to hire a full-time Grant Program Coordinator. This person will be responsible for the preparation of proposals and grant applications, and performance of responsible professional and administrative work in researching, identifying, developing, and responding to public and private grant opportunities.

This individual will support the following:

  • School Based Wellness Centers, (25 locations across New Castle County).
  • The Holloway Community Program that supports people living with HIV/AIDS, (located in Wilmington, DE and Georgetown, DE)
  • Two Juvenile Corrections facilities (Stevenson House in Milford, DE and The Ferris School in Wilmington, DE).

Work Schedule:

  • This is a full-time Monday to Friday, day shift position.

Position Highlights include:

  • Researches new funding and business development opportunities on a local, state, and federal level.
  • Maintains and builds relationships with funders and other strategic partners on a local, state, and national level.
  • Writes competitive proposals/LOIs, grant application narratives, and budgets for the Complex Primary Care and Community Medicine Programs, including but not limited to needs assessments, progress reports, and work plans. 
  • Oversees the planning and implementation of all Complex Primary Care and Community Medicine Programs grants and contracts, assuring adherence to grant and contract requirements. 
  • Works in collaboration with Christiana Care Office of Sponsored Programs and Dept of Finance to assure compliance with grant processing.
  • Acts on behalf of Christiana Care to review, accept and manage complex awards that may involve non-standard terms, multiple investigators, multiple subawards, amendments.
  • Conducts financial reviews and prepares monthly, quarterly and annual reports of expenses assuring compliance with line-item budgets for Christiana Care grants and contracts.
  • Accountable for tracking results and analyzing financial data.
  • Produces reports and documents as required by federal, state, and private contracts 
  • Assures compliance with federal, state, and organizational policies and procedures. 
  • Participates in auditing activities including payroll and level of effort reporting process.
  • Stays informed of Request for Proposal (RFP) announcements for new potential expansion of Complex Primary Care and Community Medicine Programs
  • Serves as liaison between Division of Public Health, Delaware Department of Health and Social Services and other sponsors.
  • Examines award documents; identifies all conditions, deadlines, and responsibilities; and communicates all relevant information to operational leadership
  • Develops and maintains a master schedule of funding cycles, proposal submissions, and reporting deadlines.
  • Maintains a library of grant support documents including resumes, bios, IRS forms, Board/staff diversity lists, etc.
  • Ensures that program staff and operational leadership are educated and comply with applicable deadlines
  • Reviews budget justifications to verify they are correct and in compliance with guidelines
  • Reviews, revises, and submits prior approval requests as required by funders.
  • Ensures that required financial reports are completed and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Assists in development of presentations for various stakeholders

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline required.
  • Minimum of three years of related experience and a proven track-record in grant writing and funding success required.
  • 5 years of equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted.
