ChristianaCare, the largest healthcare system in Delaware, is seeking an experienced HR professional for the position of HR Business Partner. In this role you'll serve as the HR subject matter expert/consultant for several diverse business units focused on creating an optimal caregiver work experience consistent with CCHS values and in support of achieving CCHS strategic goals. This position is currently remote with some time spent on location in the administrative offices located at Avenue North in Wilmington, DE (45 minutes south of Philadelphia).

Key Responsibilities: 

Acts as the primary point of contact for leadership groups, serving as a business partner providing consultation and HR solutions, seeking subject matter expertise as needed from HR centers of excellence to accelerate the advancement of business objectives.

Takes proactive steps, functioning, as employee relations subject matter expert providing consultation on conditions of engagement and retention of top talent.

Leverages human capital metrics to inform people strategies.

Imbedded within business unit leadership team, functions as a trusted advisor for people strategies building collaborative relationships with assigned operational and clinical leaders.

Provides guidance to leaders, staff-level caregivers, and providers regarding HR policies, conflict management and best practices related to labor law.

Provides change management support associated with new initiatives that affect all caregivers including our advance practice clinicians and physician providers to drive talent strategies.

Leads complex investigations providing recommendations for appropriate action consistent with relevant policies and program guidelines.

Assesses situations and environments affecting caregiver experience, and provides leaders with advice and recommended actions based on business operating guidelines, policies, and applicable federal and state laws.

Position Requirements:   

  • B.S. degree in Human Resources or related field.  Master's degree preferred.
  • Four years of progressively responsible HR work experience preferably in a large matrixed organization supporting decentralized clients, including previous HR Business Partner or consulting experience.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification preferred.   
  • Skilled in interpersonal relations, conflict and change management required.
  • Ability to use excellent persuasion, negotiation, communication, and collaborative problem-solving skills required.
  • Able to communicate confidently, influence and elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management and key stakeholders required.
  • Able to manage ambiguity when forming opinions and making decisions; demonstrating resiliency and perseverance in resolving problems.
