ChristianaCare is searching for an experienced Image Guided Specialist to provide and coordinate surgical navigation and image-guided surgery technology support under the direction of the attending surgeon to clean, inspect, sterilize, and decontaminate instruments for the Operating Room and other ancillary departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:   

Operates and maintains imaging equipment.  Calibrates and troubleshoots systems and equipment as required to ensure proper operation and compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Provides comprehensive technical support for highly sophisticated navigation/imaging systems and equipment.

Works independently and in collaboration with surgeons, operating room staff, radiology department, sterile processing, and industry representatives

Assists with capital equipment purchases. 

Performs needs assessment, financial analyses, and productivity analyses as they relate to the procurement of devices, equipment, and software for clinical use.

Maintains proficiency in image-guided surgery equipment and serves as a resource for surgeons, APCs, anesthesia, nursing, and support personnel.

Review maintenance protocols developed by the manufacturer and clinical engineering.  Establishes maintenance protocols/schedules as necessary.

Evaluate system/equipment performance to ensure validity and efficiency of operation through appropriate testing.

Trains and provides educational updates for surgeons, APCs, and nurses on correct equipment usage, storage, and operation.

Determines equipment and supply needs and notifies materials personnel to order.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Associate degree required.  Bachelor's Degree preferred.

At least two years of related experience with intraoperative digital imaging systems

Knowledge of stealth, radiology, etc
