The ChristianaCare Information Security Team is seeking an experienced Information Security Analyst. Analyzes and defines security initiatives that will help to protect and control all CCHS data and information systems. Plans and performs security audits and leads the process of defining and building security controls. Collaborates with members of the information security team and other information technology teams on strategic initiatives, requests and issues. Provides guidance and assistance to associate information security analysts and information security analysts.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists Director in development and establishment of strategic and tactical information security plans, standards/procedures, education and training programs.
Identifies, evaluates, recommends, and implements enhancements and manages the change process to assigned systems, products and facilities as appropriate to the needs of the business.
Keeps abreast of current security technologies and facilities (e.g., security products, network and anti-malware technologies) as they become available, and educates peers, and leadership with knowledge obtained.
Provides advanced SIRT (Security Incident Response Team) problem resolution assistance and will coordinate investigation and resolution of security incidents. Will also provide off-hour on-call support for SIRT related issues.
Works closely with information security staff to design, implement, monitor, assess, update and improve plans and programs. (e.g., SIRT Plan, Computer Service Interruption Plans, Disaster Recovery Plans and program, Security Strategy).
Develops and publishes Information Security policies, standards and procedures, based on knowledge of industry best practices, compliance requirements and regulations, as well as in accordance with Christiana Care's environment and processes and mission.
Plans and performs vulnerability scans, penetration tests, self audits, patch management reviews, as well as, security and risk assessments. Builds and manages remediation plans and task lists resulting from security based audits, scans and reviews.
Manages responses to information security incidents, internal and external audits, and departmental and corporate exercises and drills.
Creates, manages and maintains Information Technology department staff security awareness.
Collaborates with IT leadership, Risk Management and Public Safety to manage information security vulnerabilities.
Identifies and pursues opportunities for the continuing professional development of self to enable increased understanding of the various Christiana Care functions and how new information technology can be applied at Christiana Care.
Assists the Director and Information Security Program Managers in other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science based area or Engineering or five years' experience consistent with the Information Security Analyst job responsibilities. Graduate work in business areas is desirable, but not essential.
Three years of experience in Information Services.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of: departmental policies, procedures, and operations and project management techniques.
Ability to: Absorb material from trade publications, academic and industry sources. Quickly acquire broad and deep hospital functional knowledge. Assume responsibility and to work flexible hours on a limited basis. Deal with specialists in a significant number of functional areas. Identify and evaluate complex vendor software packages. Learn and apply new information security based software tools. Stay up-to-date in advanced information security technologies. Use various computer types and models to perform duties.
Function without close supervision immediately.
Skill in: Analyzing and interpreting advanced user problems. Developing advanced proposals for information security hardware and software. Identifying key or important elements of the assignment, anticipating potential problems and taking steps to avoid them. Presenting technical information to a variety of audiences. Questioning techniques. Telephone communications and public relations. Written and verbal communication.
