ChristianaCare, one of the nation's largest healthcare systems, has an exciting full-time opportunity for a BE/BC psychiatrist to work on the 10-bed inpatient unit and consult service in Union Hospital located in Elkton, MD. Union Hospital is a 72-bed acute care hospital located in downtown Elkton, MD. The behavioral health team based out of Union Hospital includes a full-time Medical Director Behavioral Health and highly experienced nurse practitioners and several therapists who provide outpatient behavioral health services. The Medical Director provides oversight and support to the inpatient/consult psychiatrist.
Eligible for license in state of Maryland
Fellowship training in Addiction Medicine or Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is preferred
The psychiatrist functions as a highly specialized consultant who manages the most complex issues of mental illness and addiction. This physician sees consults on the units and in the emergency room. The inpatient unit has an experienced team of psychiatric nurses and social workers.
