ChristianaCare's Union Hospital Imaging Department is currently recruiting for a Full-Time MRI Tech II to work in our hospital primarily on an evening schedule!

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

  • To provide direction and guidance to the technical staff and clerical staff.
  • To perform MRI scans according to departmental policy and guidelines.
  • To perform multi-modality (3) imaging in the hospital and/or outpatient satellite locations.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Completes or directs complex or involved specialty procedures.
  • Expert knowledge in MRI Technology and serves as a resource for staff.
  • Orients technologists to new equipment procedures and changes in technology,
  • Performs MRI and other imaging procedures as defined by departmental protocols.
  • Performs MRI safety screenings for patients and researches implanted devices prior to scanning.
  • Performs other diagnostic imaging skills permit.
  • Assist with the coordination of workflow and patient care activities.
  • Completes transmission of optimum quality images to PACS system, performs QC on scans.
  • Performs clerical duties when necessary and/or needed.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Consistently uses two patient identifiers.
  • Obtain clinical history regarding reason for examination and obtains appropriate consent.
  • Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiently in the use of MR Scanner Units, Radiology supported computer systems and CD burners.
  • Attends staff meetings and in-service programs.
  • Completes mandatory education.
  • Provides superior customer service to patients, family members, and all members of the healthcare team.
  • Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices.
  • Reports to leader, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and/or visitors.
  • Demonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, including knowledge of growth and development, the ability to obtain and interpret information to identify patient needs, and provide the care needed.
  • Administers all contrast media under physician's supervision.
  • Demonstrates ability to obtain IV access.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • ARRT RAD with CT and MRI certification completed within 2 years of hire.
  • Board registered in appropriate modalities
  • Maryland State licensure required for radiologic modalities
  • Completion of IV training course.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Registered Technologist preferred.
  • In outpatient imaging satellite locations - MRI II technologists are multi-credentialed and multi-modality practicing in at least two distinct roles.

Schedule:

  • 4 10hr shifts (Specific hours to be discussed)
  • Weekends and holidays as needed
