The Gene Editing Institute (GEI) at ChristianaCare is searching for a Business Operations Manager to lead all operational, financial, and administrative activities for Institute. In this role, the Manager, Business Operations will work closely with GEI leadership and ChristianaCare shared service functions to implement GEI's business strategy and annual operating goals. Reporting to the Director of Strategy and Operations, the Manager, Business Operations will effectively supervise the Finance and Grants Administrator to manage all daily business operations and administrative needs and build a strong financial program in support of GEI's strategy, commitments, and goals.

The successful candidate will have prior experience in a research lab or biotech/pharma/healthcare setting; have a track record of managing multimillion dollar budgets or building financial programs; winning grants; has experience managing direct and dotted line reports, and has experience improving systems, processes and implementing SOPs

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance, Business Administration or related field required.

  • Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration or Business preferred.

  • 5+ years' experience in organizational and/or program management or business operations required.

  • Progressive leadership in a healthcare or biotech setting preferred.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Principal duties, but not limited to.....

  • Lead financial planning process, including annual budget development, monitoring YTD financial performance and overseeing any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.

  • Engage with GEI leadership to develop new revenue opportunities including but not limited to new research funding, strategic partnerships, and/or licensing deals.

  • Liaise effectively with GEI leadership, external partners, and ChristianaCare Legal team to manage licensing deals, contracts, and/or partnership agreements and MOUs.
