PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Provides direct supervision of all Logistics personnel across CCHS with focus on inbound Operations, Warehouse Operations (Pick-Pack, Break-Pack), Outbound Operations, transportation operation. Ensures warehouse inventory is current by performing daily issues, weekly and monthly cycle counts, and assuring proper rotation of stock at the Logistics Center and at both STAT Stores. Responsible for planning and forecasting activities and develop standard operation procedures as well as developing and implementing performance measurement and internal auditing programs. Must be able to confer with entity operations to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as pending work load and employee fluctuation. 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides direct supervision of assigned staff and coordinate the daily operation of inventory control, warehouse management, shipping, and receiving.
  • Provides for the supervision of other Logistics staff from other functional areas of the department in the absence of the respective supervisor.
  • Works with Leadership to review and ensure quality of provision of service.
  • Works with the Logistics Manager to ensure that service rendered meets or exceeds customer's expectations.
  • Assists Logistic's leadership in the development of new and updated policies and procedures.
  • Assists Logistic's Leadership in the achievement of all quality efforts to maintain inventory integrity and in the efficient management of supplies.
  • Ensures customer services needs are met and service provided is accurate and correct.
  • Interview prospective employees and recommend hiring disposition.
  • Trains staff, establish level of expectations, and assures that productivity standards are maintained at that level.
  • Plans, assigns, and reviews work.    
  • Schedules work to meet deadlines; establishes priorities; determines efficient ways to organize tasks of subordinates;
  • Maintains liaison with other areas of Logistics to insure efficient workflow; assists subordinates in handling difficult or unusual problems;
  • Reviews work of subordinates for adherence to established procedure and for accuracy, completion and conformance to applicable rules and regulations.
  • Makes changes as appropriate and directs workflow between different
  • Prepares/performs annual performance evaluations in a timely manner.
  • Enforce proper adherence to all OSHA safety rules as outlined, JCAHO, CDC and FDA requirements and CCHS policies and procedures.
  • Develops, revises and implements inventory control and supply delivery systems to all user departments.
  • Oversees computerized inventory system including processing of receipts and issues, maintenance of item master records and quality control of system output reports.
  • Manages official inventory to maintain proper supply levels necessary to achieve 100% supply availability.
  • Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
  • Maintains productivity standards for various tasks performed by all assigned personnel through the monitoring of QA check system.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate Degree or equivalent required. 
  • Two years of experience in healthcare Materiel Distribution or equivalent experience.  Five years of inventory management, three of which must have been in a lead role.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
