ChristianaCare, My65+ (Primary Care for patients aged 65 and older) at Milford is looking for a Medical Assistant.
The My65+ practice at Milford offers a new innovative model of comprehensive healthcare, specific to the geriatric patient population. This unique model of care focuses on patient-centered, individualized care plans and standardized clinical outcomes.
ChristianaCare's My65+ is the first in Delaware to offer unique services designed specifically for the geriatric populations with features such as a Functional Assessment Room, on-site access to a pharmacist, registered nurse and behavioral health personnel, as well as a large, private family gathering room. In addition to services being offered at the practice, My65+ plans to include a home visit component for our home bound patients in the surrounding area. By leveraging technology and the on-site support of our patient digital ambassador, we will provide a large virtual component for primary and specialty services.
Work Schedule:
This full-time position days and hours are as follows:
Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
No Weekend, Evening or Holidays, at this time.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Rooms patients to include taking and recording patient vitals
Supports and participate in telehealth (video) visits
Performs point of care testing, injections, and EKGs
Assist providers with examinations/procedures
Prepares exam/treatment rooms with necessary supplies and equipment
Completes necessary patient-specific paperwork and screenings
Ensures EMR is up to date with all pertinent test results in preparation for next visit
Handles patient call backs relaying information per the direction of provider
As per state guidelines, performs sterilization of medical equipment
Handles prior authorizations, referrals, and medical refills
Schedules tests, procedures and surgeries.
Performs quality control on all POCT (point of care testing) and equipment
Provides documentation assistance for providers during examinations and procedures
Education Requirements:
High School Graduate or GED required.
A graduate of a recognized Medical Office Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
