ChristianaCare's Primary Care in Middletown is looking for a Full-Time Medical Assistant to join our team.

This position is responsible for assisting physicians in the examination and treatment of patients. To deliver quality patient care and to perform other clinical and clerical duties within the practice.
Schedule
Monday - Friday: 8am -5pm, one late night a week, and/or one early morning required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Rooms patients to include taking and recording patient vitals.
- Performs point of care testing, injections, medication administration and EKGs as per practice needs.
- Assist clinician with examinations/procedures
- Prepares exam/treatment rooms with necessary supplies and equipment
- Completes necessary patient-specific paperwork as per practice needs
- Ensures EMR is up-to-date with all pertinent test results in preparation for next visit
- Handles patient call backs relaying information per the direction of provider
- As per state guidelines, performs sterilization of medical equipment per practice needs
- Handles prior authorizations, referrals, and medical refills based on practice needs
- Schedules tests, procedures and surgeries as per practice needs.
- Performs quality control on all POCT (point of care testing) equipment.
- Perform clerical duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School Graduate or Equivalent
- A graduate of a recognized Medical Office Assistant Program or
- Hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
- 2 years' experience as a Medical Assistant, is preferred.
