ChristianaCare is currently recruiting for a Perioperative Evaluation and Treatment Services (POETS) Registered Nurse. The POETS team receives patient referrals from physicians and perioperative risk screening. The goal is to mitigate co-morbidities to position the patient in the best physical condition for surgery; decreasing post-operative complications and improving both outcomes and patient experience! The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting physicians in the examination and treatment of patients with virtual and on-site appointments, and to deliver quality patient care while performing clerical duties within the office. The successful candidate will work part-time, 2 - 3 days a week Monday through Friday 8:30 am -5 pm (flexibility required),  with the possibility of extending hours into the evening and Saturday in the future.  No holiday or weekend hours are required at this time.  

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet and support patients virtually or on-site
  • Professionally perform point of care testing, EKG's, etc
  • Prepare exam/treatment rooms and ensure EMR is accurate and up to date
  • Responsible for patient call backs


Qualified applicants will possess a High School Diploma or Equivalent; as well as graduation from a recognized Medical Office Assistant Program or hold current MA Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards Institute.
