MEDICAL DIRECTOR - PEDIATRIC CARE CENTER

         

ChristianaCare is looking to employ a Medical Director for the Pediatric Care Center - a Hybrid Pediatric EM and Observation Unit.

The successful candidate will be board certified and possess Pediatric Hospitalist experience with strong leadership skills and/or Pediatric Urgent Acute Care/EM experience. This Medical Director will manage all clinical aspects of this 14-bed specialized unit housed in ChristianaCare's new Center for Women's and Children's Health.

All inpatient and hospital-based non-trauma emergency pediatric patient care will be delivered at this location.

Position Highlights:

  • Directs and manages the clinical operations for the Pediatric Care Center comprised of 14 beds - 7 acute beds for pediatric EM care and 7 inpatient observations beds.
  • Oversees, develops, and supports a team of 5 providers.
  • Successfully balances clinical and administrative responsibilities.
  • Leads the development and execution of strategic planning & process improvement initiatives established from the collection and interpretation of market data analysis.
  • Champions relationship building and cross collaboration with inpatient, outpatient, nursing, leadership, and other strategic partners.
  •  Facilitates the success of the unit through supporting AOP goals and the implementation of quality control strategies.

Position Qualifications:

  • BC in Pediatrics.
  • Several years of Pediatric Hospitalist and/or Pediatric Emergency Medicine experience.
  • Experience in a Pediatric Emergency Department or Urgent Care is preferred.
  • Leadership experience preferred.
