ChristianaCare is seeking a transformational leader for the position of Medical Group Operations Officer to join The Medical Group of ChristianaCare's (MGCC) executive leadership team with operational oversight of 50+ specialty and primary care practices located in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. This is an excellent career opportunity for a highly experienced healthcare operations leader who has successfully managed multiple medical practices for a minimum of ten years, including five years overseeing ambulatory practices. This executive reports to the President of the MGCC and will be based out of our corporate offices at Ave North in Wilmington, DE.    

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee practice operations across the MGCC; participate with other senior leaders in developing short and long-term goals and strategies as well as tactics to execute the strategies.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to achieve all strategic, operational, caregiver and financial performance results of MGCC, including new business development.
  • Collaborate with system practice acquisition processes to lead business planning and implementation strategies to expand the MGCC.
  • Collaborate with System Chief Operations Officer, hospital Operations Officers, and SVP Clinical Essential Services to ensure cohesion and alignment with hospital and system operations.
  • Partner with physician leaders to transform care delivery and implement policies, procedures, and practices to execute a population health strategy.
  • Lead, develop and engage the MGCC leadership team. Mentor leaders, develop and implement workforce succession plans and lead MGCC strategies related to caregiver recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention.
  • Guide the evaluation, selection, and integration of health care technology and information management systems that support Medical Group needs and the efficient utilization of resources.

Position Qualifications:

  • Master's degree required.
  • Minimum of ten years progressive healthcare leadership experience, 7 years managing people leaders required.
  • Five years ambulatory operations experience preferred.
  • Previous experience implementing value-based contracts and population health strategies preferred. 
  • Experience with practice integration, business plan development, strategy and marketing involving large group medical practice management and demonstrated change leadership success would be especially advantageous. 
  • Membership in the Medical Group Management Association and American College of Healthcare Executives is desirable.
