ChristianaCare is currently seeking a part-time hybrid NP or PA for the Christiana ED Administration. In this role you will work collaboratively with Emergency Medicine Providers, ChristianaCare Health System Emergency Medicine Residents, and the Department of Radiology to ensure timely follow up of radiologic studies and laboratory results for patients who have been treated in the Emergency Department. The NP or PA will utilize established protocols to determine the need for further evaluation, testing, or treatment and will communicate the treatment plan with patients, their families, and other health care providers.
This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule covering 40 hours biweekly; some of these hours can be done virtually. The selected candidate will be working alongside another provider covering 7 days a week.
Duties include:
Review abnormal labs and radiology reports for patients who are discharged from one of the three CCHS Emergency Departments
Notify patients of any treatment of follow up adjustments based on these reviews
Receive and manage calls from patients and problem solve with them to avoid telephone transfers
Receive and manage calls from pharmacists, or to pharmacies for medication adjustments, prior authorizations, etc.
Respond to voice mail messages left by patients, providers, other departments Coordinate transparency for Blood and Body Fluid Exposures to any NON CCHS health care professionals. Examples include needle sticks/splashes in ambulatory or inpatient OR suites, visitors, Police and EMT professionals, ED patients Communicate with other departments as needed; i.e. radiology, lab or one of the inpatient units Work with ED Administration residents to educate them on the workings of this role Other duties as they arise.
Requirements:
Master's degree as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse or as a Physician Assistant
Licensure or license eligible in the state of Delaware
Prescriptive authority required in Delaware
BLS certification
2-3 years experience in Family Practice or Emergency Medicine preferred.
