Nurse Practitioner II - Cardiology Short Stay Unit

10-hour Day/Evening Shift (Work Hours: 6a - 4p or 1p - 11p) Weekend & Holiday Required

Christiana Care Cardiology is looking for experienced candidates with Cardiology experience to join our care team at Christiana & Wilmington Cardiac Care units! You will collaborate with attending cardiologists to provide acute care services, including initial hospital admissions and follow-up care of cardiac patients.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs cardiology admissions and provides inpatient follow-up care.
  • Appropriate and timely documentation in electronic medical records including orders.
  • Able to work in a dynamic and challenging environment as a member of the multidisciplinary care team. Demonstrates decisive judgment. The ability to also work independently is encouraged.
  • Contributes to the achievement of established practice goals and objectives and adheres to hospital policies, procedures, and quality and safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a master's degree program in nursing or as a physician assistant.  Board certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant.
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner as set forth by the Delaware Board of Nursing OR Licensure as a Physician's Assistant by the Delaware Medical Board.
  • 2-3 years of experience in Cardiology is preferred, OR
  • 2-3 years of experience working in an acute care, ICU, or Critical Care setting is preferred.
  • New NP or PA with 4-5 years of experience in Cardiology is encouraged to apply.
  • BLS/ACLS Certified
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
