Our Volunteer Services department positively impacts the patient and family experience at every step of their healthcare journey. By partnering with caregivers we dispatch more than 500 volunteers annually to assist with the care and comfort of our patients. We also partner with volunteers to ensure a valuable and fulfilling experience during the time they spend with us. The volunteers are the true personification of our values of Love and Excellence.
The Operations Coordinator is responsible for administrative duties such as, recruiting, placement training, and volunteer recognition programs. This person works across hospital departments and the health care continuum to provide Christiana Care with volunteers who enhance the service of its staff and positively impact the provision of an exceptional experience. As a member of the Patient Experience Team, responsibilities will include administrative duties related to the Patient Family Advisory Councils throughout Christiana Care. There is occasional travel to other campuses.
Additional responsibilities include:
Support the Manager and Director in implementing new programs and activities to meet the needs of ChristianaCare and the community.
Assist in the day-to-day operational management of the Volunteer Services office.
Responsible for onboarding all new volunteers includes recruiting, interviewing, placing and training. Coordinates volunteer orientation, training, interview sessions, and recognition events.
Responsible for administrative duties related to Patient Family Advisory Councils including coordinating interviews, meeting rooms, ordering food, developing agenda and creating meeting minutes.
Review, update, and maintain volunteer assignment descriptions and maintain records of service.
Assist with financial management which includes but is not limited to processing invoices and check requests, travel preparation, purchasing, and budget tracking.

Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
Bachelors degree or commensurate experience in a discipline related to the assigned area.
Knowledge of the field of volunteer management is preferred.
Experience in customer service and hospitality is a plus.
Computer technology skills are essential for performing this position effectively.
