This position will serve the role of conducting complete evaluation for all patients/families who are seeking services at ChristianaCare Pediatric behavioral health. Evaluation will include assessment of presenting problem, determining level of care, coordination of initial appointment and care coordination along with other staff members.

Our comprehensive program features a team of professionals that includes psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, therapists and counselors who specialize in caring for children and adolescents with a variety of issues, such as: Anxiety; Autism; Behavioral or developmental problems; Depression; Disorders such as ADHD, learning difficulties; Intellectual disabilities; Psychiatric disorders and Trauma.

Qualifications and Licensure:

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) required

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in outpatient/inpatient pediatric mental health setting

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   

  • Conduct a structured, focused psycho-social intake interview with parent or guardian or prospective patient

  • Carries a caseload to support patients with continuity of care until services begin internally or in the community

  • Weekly meetings with clinical team of psychiatrist to discuss difficult cases/ high acuity patients

  • Utilizes independent decision-making skills to triage and refer patients to the appropriate level of care

  • Understands and accesses community resources to assist with referrals and disposition of patients, including the ability to seek insurance verification and precertification for all levels of care

  • Coordinating with families and staff members to get connected with appropriate resources in the community to start therapeutic services based on the need.

  • Collaborates with pediatric case manager to ensure seamless care coordination

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Experience in the intake service line will be ideal.

Assessment skills and knowledge of pediatric diagnoses including Autism, ADHD, and developmental disabilities will be an asset.
