Christiana Care, Primary Care at The Swank Center for Memory Care is looking for an Outpatient Medical Assistant.

This position will initially be located in Wilmington, DE and as the Memory Care practice in Smyrna expands the Medical Assistant's role and responsibilities will eventually transition to our Smyrna, DE satellite location.

The Swank Center for Memory Care and Geriatric Consultation at ChristianaCare is Delaware's first and most comprehensive outpatient office for patients with memory disorders and their families. Approximately 18,000 people across Delaware are coping with Alzheimer's disease or a related disorder. The Swank Center for Memory Care and Geriatric Consultation offers these patients and their families essential support, education, and guidance from diagnosis through treatment.

Our geriatricians, geriatric psychiatrist, nurse practitioner, social worker, community educator and medical and administrative assistant work closely with primary care providers and additional specialists such as neurologists and neuropsychologists to develop an optimal plan for care.

Work Schedule:

  • This is a full-time employed Monday to Friday position.
  • 8:30am to 5:00pm.
  • No weekends!
  • No holidays required.

Job Requirements


  • High School Graduate or Equivalent

  • A graduate of a recognized Medical Office Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)


  • 2 years' experience as a Medical Assistant, is preferred but not required.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Good organizational skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software

Knowledge, skill, and ability requirements:

  • Flexibility to support multiple providers at different levels of learning and skill and establish relationships quickly and assist in coordination of care/chronic disease management between patients and physicians who are not available in the office full time

  • Act as liaison between patients or providers and supporting services including behavioral health, patient health navigators, social work, nutrition.
