Paramedics are qualified to provide care for patients across the life span and work under the supervision of the Director of Pre-Hospital Services and Medical Directors. In this role, you will perform duties to provide the highest level of patient care and maximize patient satisfaction. This role has primary responsibility for the care and management of the clients who are being cared for by ChristianaCare Pre-Hospital services. The candidate will be responsible for assessment, interaction, and treatment of those patients including facilitating continuity of care by interacting with their Physician and alternative healthcare providers. Duties & Responsibilities:

Interpret correctly and adhere to all clinical standards.

Respond to mobile health calls as needed and provide clinical interventions by standing orders or direct order via telehealth consultation.

Communicate effectively with members of the care team including Physicians, RNs and Care Coordinators.

Active involvement with hospital staff and Primary Care Physicians. This will include discussions about the patient's presentation, goals, and follow-up need

Maintain and secure both medical equipment and electronic devices (phones, computers, etc.) to ensure functionality and readiness. Display a strong technical proficiency.

Be willing to integrate into a hospital based clinical care team.

Be able to function as a field paramedic performing direct BLS and ALS care activities.

Team oriented and able to communicate and work effectively and efficiently with others.

Assists the transport nurse in providing care for the critically ill or injured patient from referral point contact until the patient is relinquished to the accepting medical facility, maintains patient care documentation.

Drive a ChristianaCare vehicle and have a driving record in compliance with ChristianaCare policy regarding insurability.

Assist in development of processes and education materials pertaining to Mobile Integrated Healthcare.

Practices within the designated scope of practice as defined by the Board of Medical Practice of the State of Delaware, ChristianaCare, and the Office of Emergency Medical Services Paramedic Standing Orders.

Maintains competency in knowledge and skills by participating in ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences. Maintains skill checklists and continuing education records.


Maintain Current BLS Certification. Maintain Neonatal Resuscitation Program.

Maintain ACLS, PALS, PHTLS. Licensure in the States of Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Maryland.


This position is for rotating shifts.
