Christiana Care is looking for a Program Operations Coordinator for their office in Wilmington, DE.

The Program Operations Coordinator will be responsible for research coordination for Sickle Cell research initiatives.  The candidate will be responsible for obtaining and maintain IRB approval, maintaining regulatory compliance, abstraction of study data, resolution of data queries, coordination of study related events that are required to meet protocol goals.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides technical leadership of research or administrative assistance to projects, including managing all consultative services.
  • Provides assistance and technical support for the submission of grants applications, according to institutional and external funding agency requirements.
  • Provides technical leadership for the implementation of participation in the GRNDaD Sickle Cell Disease Registry.
  • Participates in the design, integration, and implementation of key evaluation components including working with multidisciplinary team members to develop methodology, evaluation tools, and facilitation of mixed methods/process evaluation, and review/synthesis during all phases of the programs.
  • Participate in the recruitment, consenting, interviewing and retention of study subjects
  • Conduct qualitative interviews as per the research protocol.
  • Manages data collection, enters data, cleans data, performs resolution of data queries and generates data summaries, and disseminates findings through submission of manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and presentations.
  • Coordinates study related events that are required to meet protocol goals.
  • Prepares, submits, and maintains up to date IRB documentation for all projects, including conducting reviews of patient eligibility and obtaining informed consent and maintains regulatory compliance.
  • Assists in facilitating required research updates via developing reports and keeping team members up to date with process and outcomes deliverables.
  • Serves as and/or works with Grant Manager to ensure proper invoicing for awards.
  • Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Masters' degree preferred
  • Familiarity with basic concepts of health research and performance improvement preferred
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
  • 3 years' experience with human subject research in a healthy system or university setting may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Exceptional research skills and training
  • Ability to work independently as well as within the team
  • Significant technical writing experience and proficiency in communicating with various audiences
  • Writing knowledge of Excel, Access, SPSS or STATA

  • Generally fast-paced, potentially stressful environment with constant research deadlines and new projects coming in.
  • Possible exposures to infections, communicable diseases, open wounds, chemicals, solvents, chemotherapeutic agents and needles
  • Routine day shift, M - F
