PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will be part of the IT Facilities and Construction Services team and will be responsible for managing multiple projects across our entire organization including two hospitals and several remote satellite offices.  This team handles all Construction projects that are going on with the organization from an IT perspective.  The candidate will be heavily involved with the Design and Construction team from the initial planning phase to the completion and close out of the projects.  The candidate will be involved in all the planning meetings with the team and customers to make sure that we are able to account for all the IT needs for the customers (wiring, telecommunication equipment, PC's and peripherals)

The individual applying for this position should have 7-10 years of IT Project Management Experience ideally with some experience in Construction and/or Infrastructure Project Management.  Consideration will be given to those with slightly less experience if there is proven ability to learn quickly and take on more responsibility. The person selected for this position will be responsible for working closely with our Design and Construction PM as well as our site planners, technical resources, construction contractors and vendors.

Project Management responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time, within budget and within scope of control.  Oversees all aspects of the projects and set deadlines, assign responsibilities, monitor progress, identify potential risks and provide courses of action to reduce the risks.  Prepares reports for upper management regarding the status of the projects. Provides combined technical and business leadership while creating a motivating environment and atmosphere for the team.

Effective communication and teamwork are essential in this position and a demonstrated skillset will be expected.  Keeping customers apprised of project status, reviewing construction schedules with contractors, coordinating IT technical resources across multiple projects and with other Project Managers are some of the daily expectations.

The candidate should expect to be traveling between sites daily and be prepared to work in both office and construction settings.   Construction settings may require hard hats/ safety glasses and approved footwear.

The successful candidate will work directly with our customers to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget.  They will need to coordinate resources from our site Planners, technical resources and vendors to make sure timelines and deliverables are met and any exceptions are reported timely.

This individual needs to be self-motivated to learn and stay on top of their project management skills and tools.  Proven educational and responsibility growth in previous jobs would be expected.  They must maintain good communication at all times, provide technical assistance, support, education, training and standards to IT Staff.  Possess the ability to write effective support and turnover documentation for the areas they support.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience in a discipline related to the assigned area.  7 - 10 years of combined project management, data processing and system analysis experience.
