ChristianaCare is looking for a Psychologist to provide leadership for the Care for the Caregiver Peer Support Program. This program which provides individual and group support to physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff who experience distress at work following adverse patient events, workplace violence events, and other stress related to the workplace or patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Master's in psychology, social work, counseling or other behavioral health field required, PhD or PsyD preferred.

  • Experience working in an acute hospital setting preferred.

Special Requirements:

  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in Delaware

Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic planning efforts for the program, working with organizational leaders to align resources, span organizational boundaries, and promote collaboration amongst key stakeholders.

  • Represent Christiana Care locally, regionally, and nationally at conferences-presenting program design and successes.

  • Work collaboratively with other institutions to share best practices and program strategies. Oversee data collection and maintain database. Submit publications to peer reviewed journals in collaboration with the Center for WorkLife Wellbeing senior research associate.

  • Raise awareness of the second victim phenomenon, secondary traumatic stress, and the availability of the Care for the Caregiver program by creating and presenting education to front line leadership and staff.

  • Serve as content expert, providing education to managers and senior leaders about appropriate and evidence-based responses to caregivers with secondary trauma specifically, and in regard to workplace trauma more generally.

  • Serve as a core member of the Wellbeing Psychologists Team, developing and presenting wellbeing education broadly across the institution, both on demand and as part of an ongoing curriculum.

  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures regarding the Care for the Caregiver program, overseeing program evaluation, survey design and management of data and program feedback.

  • Oversee attending physician, resident physician, nursing, and ancillary staff peer supporters, recruiting additional peer supporters to match program expansion. Select, orient, train, and document the process of onboarding new peer supporters.

Direction/supervision of others:

  • Approximately 70 volunteer peer supporters
