ChristianaCare's Behavioral Health Outpatient department is looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow to provide support at our Newcastle County and Milford practices.

The primary job function is to provide direct (in person and virtual care) psychological services (assessment, diagnosis, and treatment) to patients and family members, serve on multidisciplinary teams, engage in the provision of supervision, program development or research activities in accordance with training goals, and complete relevant supervision and training requirement according to Delaware Psychology Licensure.

This is a one-year training program, with Psychologist career opportunities available post training.

Schedule

Monday - Friday: 8am -4:30pm, no weekends, closed on holidays. This is a hybrid position with virtual and/or in-person opportunities available.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide direct (in person and virtual care) clinical services to patients and family members. The direct clinical services may include the following:

  • Phone-based consultation and triage for newly referred patients.

  • Psycho-diagnostic evaluation.

  • Individual, couples, group and family psychotherapy.

  • Health behavior assessment and intervention services.

  • Formal psychological assessment, report writing and recommendations. Referral to internal and external behavioral health specialists or care providers as needed.

  • Crisis management as needed.

  • Maintain patient documentation.

Serve on Multidisciplinary Teams to:

  • Provide provider consultation regarding the patient's care needs and the social and behavioral determinants of health.

  • Attend relevant multidisciplinary meetings.

Training, Education, and Supervision:

  • Engage in training and supervision activities with psychology externs, interns, and other healthcare trainees under the supervision of the licensed supervising psychologist.

  • Develop training initiatives to provide relevant educational activities across the healthcare system.

  • Receive weekly supervision in accordance with requirements for obtaining Delaware Psychology Licensure .

  • Participate in relevant training and education opportunities with the behavioral health training program and the healthcare organization.

Research/Program Development:

  • Engage in ongoing program development & evaluation, and quality improvement projects. Develop and implement individual research, program. development/evaluation and/or quality improvement project over the course of the fellowship.

  • Participate in research activities as available.

Performs work according to Behavioral Health policies and procedures as well as psychology ethics and best practices. Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D./Psy.D. in clinical, health or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited psychology program. If the degree is not yet conferred, the applicant must have completed all requirements for the doctoral degree by the start of the fellowship.

  • Completion of an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship.

  • Specialty training, clinical experience, and/or expressed interest in psychological treatment.

  • Interest in addressing health inequities through social, psychological, behavioral, and ecological factors strongly desired.
