Christiana Care Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse to work 36 hours per week on the Night Shift at our Wilmington Hospital on the 3 Medical Unit. Weekend and Holidays - per the guidelines of the department.

3 Medical is a 10 bed Medical Surgical area located on 3 North of the Wilmington Hospital, which provides adult and geriatric inpatient and observational care on a 24-hour basis. The area is designed to accommodate 9 patients who need medical surgical nursing care and testing and will accept a total census of 10 patients during periods of high inpatient volume.

The scope of services on 3 Medical encompasses a variety of diagnoses including but not limited to: pneumonia, urinary tract infection, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes, cellulitis, substance use disorder and psychiatric diagnoses.

The patient population cared for in this area include adult and geriatric patients aged 18-105.

The conditions of patients cared for in this area can be described as fair to good.

The patients are received, admitted and transferred from the Emergency Department, the Step Down Unit, the Intensive Care Unit, and Direct Admissions from the community and provider offices.

General Requirements:

  • BSN Preferred
  • Commitment to acquiring BSN within three years of date of hire can be considered with relevant experience.
  • Qualified applicants will have at least one year experience. Acute care or sub acute care experience preferred.
  • BLS required
