As a member of the Christiana Care Enterprise EMR System Managed Services Team,  you will implement and support critical components of our Cener Millennium system, mainly managing HL7 data acquisition into  and out of the Cerner Foreign System Interfaces (FSI) interface, and Cloverleaf interface engine.  Integrations with Health Information Exchange hubs, operational readiness and participation on large projects are all included in daily activities.


  • Support interfaced transaction streams across in the enterprise EHR system (Cerner Millennium).
  • Work in a collaborative fashion with other members of the immediate System Managed Services Team, extended Enterprise EMR Team, and other groups within the IT organization and the various service lines.
  • Work closely with incident management team for operational FSI incident types and follow departmental ITIL processes.
  • This position includes assisting on-call teams with operational issues with FSI as needed.
  • Support and development of interfaces using Cerner Millennium and Cloverleaf tools and programming languages (TCL)
  • Assist with root cause investigations and provide recommendations  for preventative measures.
  • Document various SOP's and work instructions based on the CCHS implementation of the Millennium system.
  • Mentor and collaborate with others on the team

Required skills

  • Five + years of experience developing and maintaining HL7 interfaces.
  • Thorough knowledge of Healthcare ADT concepts.
  • FSI experience in a Cerner Millennium environment
  • Experience with TCL and the Cloverleaf Interface engine
  • Understanding of network infrastructure components, specifically DNS, AD, secure authentication methods, VPN's,  etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of data flows for clinical, financial and patient movement perspectives.
  • Assist in the definition and development of reports for interfaced transactions.
  • Committed to quality documentation including writing job aids and documenting data flows within sending and receiving systems.
  • Highly flexible and able to multitask in a dynamic and rewarding environment


Education Required

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science/Engineering
