PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Performs design and analysis for network infrastructure projects (design, implementations and installs), maintains, and monitors wired and wireless network hardware and software, and provides technical support to Information Services personnel and to the corporate community.

This role is part of a larger Network team with many specialties. In this position the emphasis will be on Security/Firewall and Remote Access solutions including but not limited to: Palo Alto, VMWare NSX, and Cisco ASAs, Citrix Netscaler and F5 Load Balancers. This position will also work with the CCHS Information Security teams to ensure the security of these devices, including vulnerability mitigations, load balancing configurations, patch management, and assistance with other perimeter scanning and IDS/IPS devices designed to protect and secure the CCHS network systems. An overall networking background would be expected as part of this role to include a solid understanding of the OSI model, including various routing protocols (BGP,EIGRP,IS-IS,OSPF), site-to-site and remote VPN solutions, Firewall Security and NAT policies, SSL and load-balancing for applications; including setting up, testing, and troubleshooting of these technologies and support for on-premise and remote client and host connectivity.

Also, knowledge of switching, routing and WLAN technologies and concepts is expected for a multi-site large campus environment including: Spanning-Tree, LACP/PaGP, POE, CAPWAP, SNMP, NetFlow, CDP/LLDP. Experience with security implementations and integrations in a hybrid cloud environment is a plus.

Experience with WLAN, including an understanding of wireless network concepts such as SSID's, 802.1x, RF levels, SNR, Channel Utilization and 802.11a/g/n/ac/ax.

Members of this team are required to rotate through a 24 x 7 on call schedule, one week at a time for approximately 6-7 times per year.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs Tier 1-3 analysis, design recommendations, and problem resolution for network systems incidents, changes, problems, and requests.
• Analyzes and installs data and/or voice communication hardware and software; ensures that new software releases and updates are thoroughly tested before implementation, and keeps accurate system documentation.
• Monitors data and/or voice network performance and capacities (hardware and software) and makes change recommendations to optimize the network's security and performance.
• Participates on Information Services teams to advise and review on the appropriate solutions to the health care/business problems. Performs data and/or voice network equipment analysis for the installation and implementation of network projects.
• Maintains good communications at all times, provides technical assistance, support, education, training, manuals and standards for Information Services staff .
• Is self-motivated to learn and apply the basics of the data and/or voice network equipment, applications and tools.
• Documents device changes on blueprints and updates the network diagrams and databases as required for projects.
• Identifies the need for, and defines new standards or procedures as required.
• Performs other related duties as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, and at least 5 years' experience in a  wireless networking position.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar software would be beneficial
• Experience with Panorama and Palo Alto firewalls, PANOS versions 8.x,9.x, 10.0.x
• Experience with Citrix ADCs, and concepts of SDX/VPX
• Experience with Cisco Catalyst 36xx,38xx,45xx,65xx,93xx and NXOS switches.
• Experience with Cisco ASR routers and ASA firewalls.
• Experience with SSL and industry standard load balancing technologies.
• Experience with wireless troubleshooting tools such as Air Magnet, Ekahau, etc.
• Experience with Aruba 72xx controllers in a high availability configuration.
• Experience with Aruba 100,200,300,500 series access points.
• Experience with Aruba Airwave and Mobility Master wireless applications.
• Able to support & troubleshoot various network routing, switching, access control, or firewall security issues.
• Experience with automated patching and configuration management.
• Experience with Extreme Networks devices a plus.
• Experience with VMware 6.5 or newer a plus.
• On-Call Responsibility.
