The ChristianaCare IT Service Center is currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support our wireless network infrastructure projects. PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Performs design and analysis for network infrastructure projects (design, implementations and installs), maintains, and monitors wired and wireless network hardware and software, and provides technical support to Information Services personnel and to the corporate community.
This role is part of a larger Network team with many specialties. In this position the emphasis will be on Security/Firewall and Remote Access solutions including but not limited to: Palo Alto, VMWare NSX, and Cisco ASAs, Citrix Netscaler and F5 Load Balancers. This position will also work with the CCHS Information Security teams to ensure the security of these devices, including vulnerability mitigations, load balancing configurations, patch management, and assistance with other perimeter scanning and IDS/IPS devices designed to protect and secure the CCHS network systems. An overall networking background would be expected as part of this role to include a solid understanding of the OSI model, including various routing protocols (BGP,EIGRP,IS-IS,OSPF), site-to-site and remote VPN solutions, Firewall Security and NAT policies, SSL and load-balancing for applications; including setting up, testing, and troubleshooting of these technologies and support for on-premise and remote client and host connectivity.
Also, knowledge of switching, routing and WLAN technologies and concepts is expected for a multi-site large campus environment including: Spanning-Tree, LACP/PaGP, POE, CAPWAP, SNMP, NetFlow, CDP/LLDP. Experience with security implementations and integrations in a hybrid cloud environment is a plus.
Experience with WLAN, including an understanding of wireless network concepts such as SSID's, 802.1x, RF levels, SNR, Channel Utilization and 802.11a/g/n/ac/ax.
Members of this team are required to rotate through a 24 x 7 on call schedule, one week at a time for approximately 6-7 times per year.
