Primary Function:

In this role, you will drive the Health & Technology Innovation Center's mission to introduce and successfully implement new, groundbreaking solutions that positively impact our community! The Architect looks closely at how the different elements of business, information, and emerging technology can be applied to innovatively solve a specific problem, proposing a combination of building blocks that deliver the best possible solution. The Architect is responsible for the design and development of software and hardware systems of a complex nature which require a high level of technical experience and problem-solving ability.

Broadly speaking, the Architect's job is to evaluate all business requirements, market forces, and signals, and come up with previously unimagined solutions in the form of new products or services. The Architect is not only in charge of finding answers but also of actively leading the technical vision to success.

As a visionary and role model, you will help educate and inspire caregivers throughout the organization on emerging technology and re-inventing health care in support of organizational aspirations.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership to development teams through the full project lifecycle and act as visionary and strategist for solution product areas
  • Survey the market landscape for technology trends and emerging vendors
  • Outline solution architecture descriptions across domains, functions, and industries, then monitor and govern their implementation
  • Perform hands-on coding, and deeply understand the intricacies of new and emerging technologies
  • Participate as an active member of the Scrum team, assisting the Development Team with creating products
  • Lead Research & Development initiatives, including the creation and demonstration of proof-of-concepts (POCs) on newer technologies, educating the team on lessons learned and associated strategies
  • Coach and mentor on standard methodologies, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
  • Consult with inventors and intrapreneurs on intellectual property and commercialization activities including prototype development
  • Consult with caregivers leveraging strategic foresight and organizational roadmaps to inform their initiatives

Education and experience requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience in a field related to information technology, Master's preferred
  • Acquired ten or more years of information technology and system analysis experience
  • Acquired seven or more years of coding experience, including Service Oriented Architecture, mobile, web and/or client-server

Knowledge, Skill, And Ability Requirements:


  • Advanced knowledge of structured programming/design concepts and techniques
  • Knowledge and understanding of systems software, protocols, and standards
  • Knowledge and understanding of network and platform operating systems
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Development platforms and client/server scripting programs and system testing techniques
  • Ability to solve complex problems in multi-vendor environments
  • Skilled in technical architecture and technical support documentation
  • Advanced knowledge of databases and web server protocols and technologies
  • Ability to maintain expertise in technical architecture, including industry trends, strategies, and products, to ensure that our assets are effectively and efficiently utilized


  • Superior analytical skills with advanced troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to elicit and analyze business and technical requirements, and document those in the form of RFIs and RFPs
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
  • Ability to develop strategic plans and handle projects to successful completion
  • Ability to apply analytical and conceptual approaches to problem-solving while staying aligned with our core values
  • Ability to conduct research into emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and complete tasks in a high-pressure environment

Special Requirements:

  • Some travel required
  • Must be willing to get certified in Usability, Foresight, Scrum, and ITIL within the first 12 months of employment
