As the Speech Pathology Assistant Manager, you will identify, assess, and provide treatment for individuals of all ages with communication and swallowing disorders. You will also assist with supervision and direction of the Speech Therapy Department.

Principal duties and responsibilities

  • Provides direct clinical evaluation and treatment of patients referred for speech
  • Assists with the direction of day-to-day operations on all campuses
  • Provides clinical oversight for staff providing speech therapy services to patients
  • Provides leadership to staff on the current programming
  • Responsible for assisting program manager/site manager with performance management of staff, including professional development and positive discipline
  • Provides feedback on the fiscal operations
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of programs and provides feedback for changes that may be necessary or improvements that can be achieved. Is a leader and active participant with performance improvement.
  • Provides leadership and direction for clear concise documentation of patient progress and assists with monitoring of staff compliance with documentation guidelines, billing, and rules and regulations.
  • Maintains current knowledge of rules and regulations that govern the practice of speech therapy and orients staff and managers on changes
  • Provides professional consultation regarding patient goals, status, equipment, and discharge recommendations to the clinical team
  • Supervises Speech Therapists and students during clinical education programs

Education and Experience requirements:

  • Master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology
  • At least five years of clinical experience
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology/ASHA membership
  • Licensure in the State of Delaware as a Speech Pathologist; other state licensure as needed
  • CPR Certification
  • Knowledge of current speech therapy practice and theories of treatment
  • Knowledge of therapeutic sequences and their application to treatment progression
  • Knowledge of basic business practices
  • Knowledge of budget process
  • Knowledge of management principles and techniques
