ChristianaCare is searching for a Senior Business Intelligence Data Analyst to play a lead role in designing and executing on the data strategies of the Organizational Excellence (OE) department. The analyst will work collaboratively with the existing system data infrastructures and resources to develop and design systems of BI that meet OE department needs. In addition, the Analyst will deliver timely data that provides clarity and facilitates the ongoing transformation of our data-to-value information chain. Additionally provides dashboard-reporting and advanced analytical offerings.
The ideal candidate should be highly proficient in data warehouse tools and technologies and have strong decision-making skills, excellent analytical ability and consulting skills.
Duties to include:
Takes lead responsibility for meeting the data and information needs of the OE department.
Plays a role in helping automate key business processes using business intelligence (BI) methods to reduce waste and improve quality and accuracy of data. Design scalable and maintainable BI applications to meet the OE business objectives.
Provide guidance and recommendations for optimal system design and architecture.
Routinely recommends improvements in processes and procedures to ensure efficient consumption and application of data.
Creates a data architecture strategy and project specific implementations in conjunction with clinical and business teams to include a robust, sustainable, scalable enterprise data model that supports current department needs and provides for future expansion.
Design, direct and execute changes to existing models and create new data models for the OE department in conjunction with Center for Strategic Information Management, the Enterprise Data Warehouse and data marts dependent on the Enterprise Data Schema and any required data staging. Ensure there are document guidelines and standards for the data architecture which enforce data warehousing standards
Mentor and provide direction to other departments and team members within the organization on data architecture best practices. Work with other team members and departments to implement performance related changes as needed.
Analyze business requirements to produce relevant data architecture deliverables (data models, data dictionary, source analysis, source to target maps design for reports, interfaces and functional dashboards or other outputs).
Leads the change of existing data warehouse and data mart models or development of new models to support new or expanded data content. Design and create data models from conceptual to logical to physical that reflect the informational requirements of the solution and using industry accepted practices.
Bachelor degree in computer science, data management or engineering or other relevant education. Masters is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
Minimum of 7-10 years' experience
Experience with RDBMS tools and working with clinical databases managing large volumes of data in a SAS and / or SQL Server environment.
Experience creating and supporting complex, high volume data architecture. Data Warehouse data modeling tool evaluation and selection experience.
Experience with data access requirements for client dashboard reporting, preferably with working knowledge of some dashboard reporting platforms, such as Tableau, ClickView, Business Objects or other tools.
Experience working with Analysts in research, reporting and modeling environments that leverage tools, such as, R, RapidMiner, Minitab, SAS or SPSS
Extensive experience in the design and creation of conceptual, logical and physical data models through use of a data modeling tool. Extensive experience with Data Warehouse life cycles and strong understanding of agile development methodology.
