Transfer Center Representative/Dispatch Communications
Christiana Care Health System is currently seeking a Transfer Center Representative to provide professional, efficient communications via radio, telephone and pagers to physicians and transport staff. The Transfer Center Representative assists physicians within and outside CCHS in the unplanned, unscheduled, emergent transfer and placement of their patients. We seek experienced EMTs for this position as the ideal candidate
Highlights:
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinating the acceptance, transfer and transport of primarily unplanned, unscheduled , emergent requests into and out of the healthcare system.
Together with the bed coordinators, admissions personnel, physicians and hospital staff, ensures the safe and timely transfer of patients.
Directs phone calls to the appropriate referring and receiving physicians for acceptance and a plan of care.
Communicates with AirCom for the dispatching of LifeNet 6-1 and 6-4 for interfacility and scene responses.
Dispatches the appropriate level of ambulance service needed to care for the patient.
Communicates to referring, receiving physicians and nursing staff an ETA of the transport unit.
Provides patient care updates to relevant parties when needed.
Obtains insurance and patient identification information and forwards to the appropriate personnel.
Completes computerized intake form and data base on all requests and completed transfers.
Communicates with Center Dispatch and Public Safety the ETA of incoming transport aircraft.
Logs campus emergency information that involves the use of CareNet services for patient care and transport.
Notifies the appropriate leadership of issues or concerns in a timely manner.
Communicates in a clear and professional manner to all those requesting services.
Coordinates ambulance and aircraft communications by contacting crew members via phone or text messages.
Monitors transport activities, and travel times of aircraft and ambulance services.
Notifies appropriate departments and personnel if there are safety concerns or issues with route of travel or communication delays.
