Assistant Nurse Manager - Neuro Critical Care Unit
Full Time (80 hours) - Day/Midnight commitment
Rotation depending on the needs of the department

ChristianaCare is currently seeking a dedicated Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) to support our Neuro Critical Care Unit (NCCU) and Transitional Neuro Unit (TNU).
- NCCU is an 18-bed unit specializing in the care of neurological and neurosurgical patients.
- TNU is a 6-bed stepdown unit designed for patients transitioning from intensive neuro care.
In this leadership role, the ANM will collaborate closely with the Nurse Manager to oversee both clinical and administrative operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compassionate care. The ANM will also contribute directly to patient care by working a minimum of 8 hours per week in staffing.

Responsibilities:
- Supervises all nursing and technical personnel: Assesses competency of staff, oversees daily staffing and scheduling needs of department, evaluate staff performance, counsel/coach staff member as needed.
- Participates in hiring, promotion, and termination decisions.
- Functions as role model, demonstrating quality expertise and professional behaviors.
- Directs, mentors and supports all levels of staff.
- Develops, implements and monitors performance improvement and patient safety initiatives.
- Identifies and develops strategies to improve the overall knowledge base and professionalism of staff.
- Analyzes administrative and operational functions; implements appropriate changes and system wide improvements.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required.
- Master’s Degree in a nursing field required or currently enrolled to be obtained within 5 years of promotion into position.
- Five years' appropriate clinical experience in neuro critical care required.
- Leadership experience preferred.
- Appropriate clinical certification required.
