Emergency Medicine Physician, Ultrasound Assistant Director

ChristianaCare, one of the nation’s leading healthcare systems, is seeking an Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Assistant Director to join our dynamic Emergency Medicine team. This unique 60% clinical / 40% administrative role offers the opportunity to lead and deliver high-quality, compassionate care across our four state-of-the-art Emergency Departments in Delaware and Maryland.
Position Highlights:
- The Assistant Director will be the primary responsible party for developing, implementing, coordinating and advancing ultrasound education for non-emergency medicine physician groups.
- In coordination with key stakeholders from non-emergency medicine educational programs and non-physician groups develop and implement educational curricula and training
- Educate and mentor nurses, physician assistants, and residents in point-of-care ultrasound
- Assist key stakeholders in maintenance and advancement of educational and performance improvement work for their programs
- Develop, lead and implement the Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Program education including, but not limited to; lectures, hands on education, image quality assurance review, ultrasound peer review and feedback for emergency medicine providers
- Serve as expert resource for fellows, residents, physicians, advanced practice clinicians and staff regarding Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasound including clinical support and mentoring of junior faculty, fellows and residents.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across a high-volume, high-acuity system
Qualifications:
- Board Certification in Emergency Medicine
- Graduate from an Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship, Focus Practice Designation in Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasound from American Board of Emergency Medicine preferred
- Ability to meet licensing and credentialing requirements for Delaware and Maryland

Annual Compensation Range $331,059.00 - $441,381.00The above compensation range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting for full-time hours in the respective specialty. The actual compensation within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation the fair market value for physician services in the relevant specialty and the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, credentials, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. The compensation range listed may encompass various forms of applicable compensation for this position, including, but not limited to, productivity incentives, value-based incentives and other ancillary forms of compensation dependent upon operational factors such as hours worked, call coverage and other factors.
