Job Description
ChristianaCare is looking for a casual Medical Assistant I for our Primary Care Float Team, Region Three.
Region 3 includes, but not limited to:
- Primary Care at Medical Arts Pavilion II
- Primary Care at Middletown East
- Primary Care at Middletown West
- Primary Care at Whitehall
- Primary Care at Smyrna
- Primary Care at Milford
Primary Care provides medical services for children and adults at all life stages. As a medical assistant, you will assist providers in patient examinations and treatments, perform clinical and clerical duties, and deliver quality patient care through virtual and on-site appointments.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday anywhere from 7am to 7:30pm
Duties / Responsibilities:
The Medical Assistant II will greet and support patients both virtually and on-site within the practice, preparing them for on-site visits, performing point of care testing, injections, medication administration, and EKGs, assisting clinicians with examinations and procedures, preparing exam/treatment rooms with necessary supplies and equipment, completing patient-specific paperwork, handling patient call backs, scheduling stat tests, procedures, and surgeries, performing quality control on POCT equipment, providing documentation assistance for providers, troubleshooting patient issues with video visits, and supporting patients in joining ChristianaCare's Patient Portal. The Medical Assistant II also performs other related duties as required, adhering to departmental safety rules and practices, and reporting any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations to the supervisor.
Position Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or GED required.
- A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program and hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) or obtain within three months of hire.
- Two years’ experience as a Medical Assistant, is required, three years’ is preferred.
